The grantmaking that we do at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation is aligned with our goal of changing whole systems, infrastructures and attitudes to create a lasting impact on health, especially in those communities most affected by health inequities.

As outlined in our Grantmaking Process, we are continually assessing the impact of our work, collaborating with organizations across the state and nation, and researching best practices to improve the social and economic determinants of health.

Our grantees drive the systems changes that advances health equity.

Grantmaking Process

The Foundation makes the majority of its grants in response to competitive funding opportunities.

All funding opportunities are announced on this site and through the Foundation’s enewsletter. We encourage organizations to sign up for the enewsletter to get the earliest notices of funding opportunities.

Interested applicants should carefully read the guidelines and the recommended resource materials. Foundation members are available to answer any additional questions.
